Event Description

The mother reported that the patient's blood glucose was high and he had large ketones.He was experiencing irritability, nausea, and vomiting.She took him to the emergency room and he was diagnosed hyperglycemia.Treatment included insulin and fluids via iv.He was given something for nausea under his tongue.Lantus was also prescribed for them to have on hand, in case of emergencies.The patient's basal segment between 9am-10pm was changed from 0.60 to 0.80, a basal program from 12am-9am was made for.080, and the mother was told to reduce his 9am bolus amount in half, but no specific setting was given.
