The reporter contacted animas on (b)(6) 2018, alleging the pump issued a call service 064 alarm, indicating that an occlusion occurred during the prime step. There is no indication the alleged product issue caused or contributed to an adverse event.Animas customer support attempted to complete troubleshooting activities with the reporter; however, complete troubleshooting could not be completed due to the issue of the customer not having available tubing or cartridge for the required change, as part of the troubleshooting.Troubleshooting that was able to be completed revealed that the customer had been using the tubing longer than advised in the instructions for use and had not been properly cycling the cartridges prior to use.Animas customer support made several attempts to contact the reporter in a follow-up to complete the troubleshooting of the pump, however, the reporter did not respond to these attempts.A pump issue could not be ruled out, due to the inability to complete troubleshooting of the device. This complaint is being reported because the issue may result in a long-term cessation of insulin delivery, if the user is unable to resolve the alarm.
