The customer contacted a siemens customer care center (ccc) and reported that a discordant white blood cell count (wbc) result was obtained on a patient sample on the advia 2120i hematology system with dual aspirate autosampler. The customer reported that a sample with elevated wbc was processed prior to the affected sample and the customer indicated that there was evidence of carryover.Siemens reviewed the event and was unable to eliminate a sample integrity issue or other pre-analytical variables as contributing factors to the discordant result. The customer did not provide additional information. The cause of the discordant wbc result is unknown. The instrument is performing according to specifications. No further evaluation of this device is required.
