Event Description
|
The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a hernia.It was reported that three months after implant, the patient experienced pieces of the mesh that were free floating and had to be removed.Some granulation tissue was noted and an abscess cavity was washed out.Three months after implant, a mesh infection and surrounding infected tissue was excised with antibiotic irrigation.

The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of an incisional hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced pieces of the mesh were free floating, abscess, infected mesh, and recurrence.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery, removal of pieces of mesh, washout of abscess cavity, excision of mesh, antibiotic irrigation, and hernia repair with sutures.
