Event Description
|
The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a chronically incarcerated recurrent incisional hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced hernia recurrence, extensive lysis of adhesions of dense adhesions, serosal defect on bowel and evacuation of abdominal well hematoma, large amount of brownish fluid and fascia over mesh dehisced but mesh intact, abscess, no incorporation of middle portion of marlex mesh/incorporation on sides, infected mesh, feculent fluid in wound, sepsis and infection.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery.

The patient¿s attorney alleged a deficiency against the device.The product was used for therapeutic treatment of a chronically incarcerated recurrent incisional hernia.It was reported that after implant, the patient experienced hernia recurrence, dense adhesions, mesh detached and falling apart, serosal defect on bowel and evacuation of abdominal well hematoma, large amount of brownish fluid and fascia over mesh dehisced but mesh intact, abscess, no incorporation of middle portion of marlex mesh/incorporation on sides, infected mesh, feculent fluid in wound, sepsis and infection.Post-operative patient treatment included revision surgery, explant of mesh, placement of new meshes, incision and drainage of wound abscess with wound vac, transverse colectomy, right end colostomy, primary fascia closure with wound vac and extensive lysis of adhesions.
