Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient receiving dilaudid via an implanted pump.The indication for pump use was non-malignant pain.On (b)(6) 2019 the patient reported that she was in the hospital for the ¿better part of 2 years ending in 2017/beginning of 2018'' and the doctors could never figure out what was wrong with her.She was having hallucinations, lost 150 pounds, and couldn't eat.Also, early in 2017, she ¿became paraplegic¿.She stated, "i couldn't walk, couldn't stand, if i went to stand up i would fall like a ''ragdoll''.I couldn't use my legs at all, it took me 6 months to learn to walk again and i still can't walk well¿.The patient wanted her pump removed.No further complications have been reported as a result of this event.
