Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for gastric stimulation and g astrointestinal/pelvic floor issues. It was reported that the patient was currently hospitalized because their ins was not working, causing the patient to be sick.It was noted that the ins helped the patient with bowels, but the patient was not able to go to the bathroom and the ins was ¿backing everything up¿.The hospital staff arranged for a manufacturer representative to come yesterday, but no one was able to come meet with the patient. It was noted that the hospital would be discharging the patient on (b)(6) 2019, although the patient was still sick, and the patient was concerned the patient would end up in the hospital again. No further complications were reported/anticipated.
