Event Description
Information was received indicating that two day following removal of a 20g smiths medical jelco® protectiv® safety i.V.Catheter, the patient had a 3.5cm needle surgically removed from her left antecubital.The patient had been in the emergency department in which she had two 20g piv's placed.It was reported that there was no record of any complication or other events to indicate issues with the iv's.There were no further reported adverse effects.
