Event Description
It was reported that clinician placed a 3cg picc arterially but had been able to confirm placement utilizing 3cg.She reported that the patient had complaints of numbness and tingling in her legs and chest tightness immediately following placement.Given the patient complaints immediately following picc insertion a cxr was ordered and the picc was read as in sufficient position.Several days later the patient returned to the hospital with stroke like symptoms and the cxr film was reexamined and determined to be dwelling arterially.
