Event Description
Information was received from the consumer regarding a patient receiving an unknown drug via an implantable infusion pump.The indication for use was non-malignant pain.It was reported that the patient was dismissed by the managing healthcare provider (hcp) due to missed appointments.The caller stated that the pump ran out of drugs a couple months ago and the pump was alarming.It was noted that the patient got sick when the drug ran out and that the alarm was getting faint.No further complications have been reported as a result of this event.
 
Event Description
Additional information was received from a consumer on (b)(6) 2020.It was reported that nothing had been done yet to resolve the issue, the patient was waiting for a removal surgery to be scheduled.The issue was not resolved.The patient's weight was provided.No further complications were reported.
