Information was received from a consumer (con) regarding a patient who was implanted with a neurostimulator for gastric stimulation it was reported that an enterra patient who has an infection around the pocket site was treated with antibiotics.No further complications noted or anticipated.

Additional information was received and the manufacturer representative stated that the patient had a lot of pain after surgery and presented with a mild seroma as well as bruising at her port sites the following day. patient came to the doctor's office on (b)(6) 2020 with intense pain and a low grade fever (100 degrees). on (b)(6) he pulled 15 cc¿s of thin bloody fluid from her pocket site. they cultured the fluid but no growth was found. she presented to the er with pain on a couple of occasions where they did a ct scan and noted a small amount of fluid at the pocket site. at some point she was placed on antibiotics as well as an antifungal. she seem to do well on the antifungal for a small period of time. they spoke to her via phone on (b)(6) and she was having intense pain but was having good response to her nausea and vomiting symptoms. on (b)(6) they saw patient in the office and decided to remove her device due to continued pain. on (b)(6) they removed it and noted a little hematoma at the pocket site as well as leads that were intertwined with some adhesions. the health care professional still has no clue as why she was experiencing the severe pain.No further complications noted or anticipated.
